Apologue is a digital publishing company that marries the usability of ebooks with the interactivity of children’s digital books for young adult readers. See Northern Lights for an example of the product.

Northern Lights was created as an example of the type of publications created at Apologue. Using Philip Pullman’s novel to demonstrate the possibilities for digital publications, the novel features illustrative chapter headers, interactive supplementary material, and character illustrations. 

The International UFO Museum and Research Center faces challenges as an institution that mostly appeals to fanatics and conspiracy theorists. This redesign imagines a different look at the museum that is appropriate for all ages, drawing upon retro inspired illustration and bright, inviting colors.

Hypo is a magazine devoted to telling the stories of underdogs. In the issue “Film Fatale,” Hypo explores the stories of female filmmakers from directors and actresses to the women creating vivid worlds behind the scenes. 

Design + Film is an event celebrating the role and evolution of title sequence design. It is designed to have the quiet feel of a theater before the opening credits roll. For the Love of the Title is a accompanying book that highlights the history of title sequence design from silent films to today’s television series title sequence. 

HYP is a non-profit group in Northern Alabama built around connecting locals and transplants through social, educational, and volunteer opportunities. Their old logo did not adequately represent their goals, audience, or mission. A new mark was required, but needed to tie in the history of the area while appealing to the target audience. 

This project was an exercise in drawing inspiration from a beloved typeface to create a poster design.

Danielle was planning an intimate wedding at the Disney resort. She wanted an elegant solution for her destination wedding, tying in themes of her occupation of working at Disney with her fiancé’s as a naval officer. 

Her stationery included a formal invitation, an RSVP post card, and an insert with accommodation information along with a Save the Date postcard. The invitations and postcards were gold foiled by hand. There was also a website created to reiterate important information about the event as well as the story of how the couple met and bridal party information.

Norman Suhs is a sculptor based in north Alabama who crafts intricate wood sculptures of birds and other nature scenes. After having potential customers request a site or a business card, he needed both to take his work from local crafting to a feasible business.
